Does the choice of FLT3 inhibitor matter in FLT3-mutated AML?

In this presentation, Alexander Perl, MD, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, discusses whether the choice of FLT3 inhibitor matters in FLT3-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML), highlighting differences between agents and the importance of randomized head-to-head comparisons. Dr Perl reviews data comparing gilteritinib and midostaurin in combination with intensive chemotherapy, including the Phase III HOVON 156 trial (NCT04027309), in which gilteritinib showed evidence of greater antileukemic activity without improving overall survival, and the Phase II PrECOG 0905 trial (NCT03836209). This presentation took place at the 8th International Workshop on Acute Leukemias (iwAL) in Cambridge, MA.
