EHA 2026 | The impact of prior induction cycle number on outcomes with gilteritinib in R/R FLT3-mutated AML

Mark Levis, MD, PhD, Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, Baltimore, MD, discusses the impact of prior induction cycle number on outcomes with gilteritinib in relapsed/refractory (R/R) FLT3-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) based on data from the ADMIRAL and COMMODORE studies (NCT02421939 and NCT03182244, respectively). Dr Levis notes that the combined analysis of the two trials showed no significant impact of prior treatment on response to gilteritinib, indicating that patients with R/R FLT3-mutated AML respond better to gilteritinib than to salvage chemotherapy, regardless of prior treatment. This interview took place at the 31st Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) in Stockholm, Sweden.
