In this video, John James, OBE, Sickle Cell Society, London, UK, discusses sickle cell disease (SCD) and its impact on the quality of life of patients. Mr James first highlights the challenges of living with SCD, and then discusses the importance of the Sickle Cell Society in campaigning for more treatment options and aiming to improve the quality of care provided to those with SCD, through campaigning and advocating for patients. This interview took place at the 62nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) 2022, in Manchester, UK.
