Paolo Ghia, MD, PhD from the San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, Italy provides us with a summary of his presentation ‘From Structure to Function to Clinical Outcome’, presented during the International Workshop on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (iwCLL) 2017 held in New York, NY. Dr Ghia describes how he and his team have created crystal structures of key receptors involved in the pathophysiology of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). These models have allowed them to study the interaction between antigen and receptor, and understand how binding affinity can act as a prognostic factor in CLL for clinical outcomes.
