Academic History

Bruno Paiva, PhD, undertook his PhD in biomedicine at the Medical School of the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain, where he also taught on the Doctoral Program in Cancer Biology between 2012 and 2013. Dr Paiva is currently the Co-coordinator of the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA) LAB diagnostics at the University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain, where he is also responsible for the Flow Cytometry Laboratory.

Speaking on multiparameter flow cytometry for malignant hemopathies

Dr Paiva conducts exciting research into immunophenotypic analysis by multiparameter flow cytometry. Bettering differential diagnosis and monitoring of hematological malignancies and lymphoproliferative disorders are at the heart of his work. He focuses on understanding the cellular compartments involved in malignant transformation and chemo-resistance in hematomas.
