General principles of acute lymphoblastic leukemia

Josep-Maria Ribera, MD, PhD from Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, Barcelona, Spain outlines the clinical practice of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Although treatments are individualized due to the number and complexity of the diseases, there are several principles which are followed worldwide. These include the notion that chemotherapy is provided first, that adults should be considered for transplant and the minimal residual disease (MRD) is of high importance. Recorded at the European Hematology Association (EHA) 2016 Annual Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark.
