Jesús San Miguel, MD, PhD of University Clinic of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain summarizes the topics of the workshops held at the 2016 European Multiple Myeloma Academy (EMMA) in Madrid, Spain. Prof. San Miguel, co-chair of the meeting, explains that four areas of relevance to clinical practice were covered; the new diagnostic response criteria, early diagnosis and treatment, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), and complications.
