ASCO 2017 | Gaining a better understanding of lymphoma therapies through mass data collection

Anas Younes, MD, of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, talks about the importance of collecting data from lymphoma patients to understand their response to certain therapies. He explains that to be able to understand response or resistance to a certain therapy, data will be needed from thousands of patients, to show a link between certain genetic alterations and the certain therapy. It is not possible however for a single institution to be able to do this, and therefore it must be done through collaborations. The approach to this however is still in discussion. Dr Younes explains that this is an urgent unmet medical need that must be worked on to accelerate the interpretation of the information and bring us closer to better treatment of lymphomas. Recorded at the American Society of Oncology (ASCO) 2017 Annual Meeting held in Chicago, IL.
