GCLLSG 2016 | Upcoming CLL trials on treatment options

Carsten Niemann, MD, PhD of Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark, discusses promising chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) trials running in Denmark. Recruitment has just been finalized for the CLL14 study (NCT02242942), run by the German CLL Study Group, and Dr Niemann mentions having quite a few patients in Denmark participating. He then talks about a new trial commencing towards the end of October, early November 2016, which is an inter-group study for patients with first-line treatment in CLL. Dr Niemann states expecting this trial to be as successful as a lot of predecessors in terms of trials from the German CLL Study Group. He also believes this trial will answer the most important questions on what kind of treatment is best for patients. He notes although this is very promising, there will be a few years before results are apparent. Recorded at the 2016 International Workshop of the German CLL Study Group (GCLLSG) in Cologne, Germany.
